For all those waiting to see more pics of the fabulous wedding of Mark and Karen here they are!!! One word to describe this wedding was SWAG!!! Their attention to detail at this wedding was unbelievable and everything looked amazing!

Both the bride and groom got ready for their big day at the beautiful Le Meridien Hote l (on different floors of course) The wedding ceremony was held at St. Ignatius in San Francisco followed by a spectacular celebration at the fabulous Bently Reserve in the heart of downtown San Francisco. Karen and her team at KSVP Events did an outstanding job making sure the day went according to plan. And the pictures below are from the AWESOME photographers at Zelo Photography:

Sabrina & Andrew - St. Regis Hotel

Sabrina and Andrew, a super awesome couple that had an awesome wedding at the beautiful St. Regis hotel in the heart of downtown San Francisco. Their ceremony was held in the super modern foyer of the ballroom of the hotel with panoramic views of the city's skyline, then guests were directed to the rooftop reception where they wined, dined and celebrated beneath 3 beautiful crystal chandeliers.

The bride wanted a bright color spread throughout both ceremony and reception space so she decided on having magenta colored flowers. Here we used, fuchsia phalaenopsis orchids, hot pink dahlias, hot pink roses and pink hydrangeas and it certainly brightened up the rooms with a pop of color.

I was super excited to be able to do my first wedding at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. As a florist, this was a venue that I've been looking forward to doing for a very long time!!! Here are a few of the pictures I took:

Meet our lovely couple, Linda and Chris who tied the knot on a beautiful, clear afternoon at the Legion of Honor in San Francisco. The wedding ceremony was held outside with breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the sun setting behind them.

... and the whole wedding revolved around a little blue box that every girl knows and loves!!! Elisa and Brian chose Tiffany Blue and white as their color palette for their wedding. The ceremony was held at the beautiful, Good Sherpard Catholic Church in Elk Grove where the bride walked down a pink petal aisle runner lined with branches hanging with crystals. The celebration continued at Le Rivage Hotel in Sacramento.

Once again, we were able to work with the amazing coordinator Events by Chilou, who made sure Elisa and Brian's day went on smoothly!!

Sheryl and Brady and their closest family and friends had an entire island all to themselves in San Francisco. They had a very small and intimate wedding and reception at the very beautiful Forbes Island next to Pier 39.

The flower girls carried flower wands as they walked down the aisle.

Jerome and I were part of PACE's Pilipino Cultural Night at SFSU several moons ago, so when I got the memo that he was getting married I couldn't have been happier for him and Melanie. They were referred to be by one of my faves, Alfred & Emma Photography and I was super excited to be chosen as their wedding florist.

They got married in a quaint little church named after the groom himself at St. Jerome Catholic Church in El Cerrito and their reception was held at the beautiful Golden Gate Fields. We also did Vallejo High's Prom here several years ago.

We were very honored to do the wedding of a very special couple, Leslie and Robert who are BFFs to another couple we hold near and dear to us, JoAn & Fredo. We were delighted to do the balloons for the Christening celebration of 3 special girls!!! We filled the room with pink and white balloon blooms mixing short and tall balloon topiaries on each of the guests tables.

Jhenelle and Robert celebrated their wedding at the Sheraton in Palo Alto and incorporated a Library theme to their reception. Each table was named after a section in the library and the place cards for each of the guests was a bookmark with favorite quotes of the couples!!!

The centerpieces were simple arrangements of blue hydrangea and some brown branches and filled the room nicely!

We were delighted to do the wedding flowers for Jemecha and Mark, a dream couple to work with!!! The ceremony was held in the beautiful and historic Mission Dolores in San Francisco. (If you've never toured the grounds, it is a must see if you're in the area!) The reception was held at the Westin in Milbrae where the ballroom was filled with over 200 family and friends of Jem and Mark.

Kriselda's Cotillion

Kriselda celebrated her 18th birthday with a beautiful cotillion including several dances by her court and 18 candles and 18 roses ceremony. Her special day was held at Concord Hilton. She didn't have an ordinary birthday cake, but treated her guests to mini bunt cakes provided by Nothing Bunt Cake. DJ and lighting by Impact Sounds. Stay tuned... more pictures to come!

The most important wedding to any bride is their own.... and so this post on my beloved blog is MY favorite wedding because I was the bride!!!

I was only half crazy when I decided to do SOME of the wedding flowers which included all the personal flowers for 10 pairs of sponsors bouquets and boutonnieres, 6 bridesmaids bouquets, 6 groomsmen boutonnieres, 2 flower girls pomanders, a ring bearer floral box, 2 moms bouquets and a dad's boutonniere.... add to that 24 pew arrangements. CRAZY, I tell you CRAZY!!!! A million thanks to our family and friends who helped us out!!! Seriously, my advice... don't do your own flowers if you have a "sizable" wedding!!! You want to be able to just relax and enjoy the time leading up to your wedding day!!! Seriously!!!!

Luckily, I'm honored to have mentors who graciously helped with arranging my bouquet and the centerpieces at the reception.

So... we had the most amazing day filled with 324 of our closest family and friends. The ceremony was held at the church I grew up in, St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Vallejo, California and we completely transformed our reception space at Delta Breeze on Travis Air Force Base. We had THE BEST TEAM of wedding vendors from all over the Bay Area!!! The wonderful Chilou with Events by Chilou made sure the day ran smoothly. Our beautiful cake was designed by the super talented Cheryl Lew from Montclaire Baking. Lighting by my favorite DJ, Impact Sounds. Rentals by Classic Party Rentals in Napa and our guests partied on down to the amazing D'Groove Band!! Videography by Blue Dolpin Productions. And we were honored to have Sam Hassas from Hassas Photography capture our day with amazing images!!

Future brides.... I hope to help make your wedding day as special to you as ours meant to the both of us!!

We were delighted to do the wedding of Eric and Joyce. It was a rainy day for a wedding, but that didn't stop the wedding from looking AMAZING!!!! The ceremony was held at All Saints Catholic Church in Hayward. (Same location where another of our couples Eileen and Eugene had their wedding 2 weeks prior!!!) Reception was held at the super beautiful Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery in Livermore.

The colors of their wedding were Sangria and Ivory so we did the flowers in shades of purple and hot pink, and light pink for the bouquets and other personal flowers. For the reception space we used a lot of white hydrangea and added their colors in the taller centerpieces.

We got to share in the special day of Jamie and Kaochio's Laotian ceremony and reception held at the beautiful Palm Event Center in Pleasanton. My favorite DJs of Impact Sounds provided the music and photobooth for the event!

We went with shades of green and white throughout the their personal flowers and their reception pieces. Flowers included Green and white hydrangea, green roses, green spider mums and green cymbidium orchids.

They decided to use both tall and short arrangements for their centerpieces.

Two avid cyclists tied the knot on a beautiful day in March and we're so happy that we were part of their special day!!!!

Eileen wanted something to compliment her wedding colors of eggplant and periwinkle so we did flowers in shades of purples and some blue hydrangea throughout her ceremony and reception.

My last wedding of 2010 was for my very very good friend and college roommate, Eileen and the love of her life, Jeremy!!! After the ceremony the wedding party took their pictures at the Capitol Park in front of the State Capitol Building in Downtown Sacramento. The reception was held in the historic Capitol Plaza Ballroom in Sacramento.

They had a beautiful wedding in the beautiful town of Sonoma on a beautiful summer day. Robin loves sunflowers and dahlias and so she got sunflowers and dahlias for her wedding.

Robin and Steve had their ceremony at St. Francis Solano, A small Catholic church nestled in the heart of Sonoma.

The reception was held at Ramekins, a culinary school and bed and breakfast.
Guests enjoyed cocktail our at their outdoor courtyard, the flowers that lined the aisle at the church were re-purposed as centerpieces on the cocktail tables.

For some strange reason, I over looked flowers in my budget and I’m truly appreciative for the hard work and gorgeous floral arrangements. I didn’t even have pictures to express the vision I had with the bouquets. I just told you my colors and you work your magic in less than a month too!!! Everyone loved the bouquets, the style was unique and it had attitude, totally LOVE! LOVE your work! Hornblower Wedding Fair 2009

MELANA Events was able to showcase our work at Hornblower's Wedding Fair at the Berkeley Marina. There were several yachts in the Marina that were being showcased to potential Hornblower Wedding Clients and were were able to decorate one entire yacht!!

We decorated the Commodore. It's a small boat, and this day it was set up for 33 people. The linens and chairs were picked out for us and were being provided by Hornblower's preferred rental company. Our mission was to provide florals that complimented the rentals items. Below are some pictures that we took.

(I don't know my boat lingo, but hopefully you'll understand what i'm trying to say.)
This is the bow of the boat. The wedding ceremony would take place here, on deck outside at the front of the boat.

This arrangement was at the buffet table on the bottom floor.

Next to the buffet table was this ceiling decoration that we did above the dance floor. At night it would shimmer and shine if we turned on the lights that we put up there. The yacht had pretty low ceilings so it couldn't hang too low. If you were 6 foot tall and you jumped, you'd hit your head!

As you walk up the stairs you'd enter the dining area. Here 6 tables and a head table were set up.

We tried to pay attention to every little detail on the boat. Here is what we did on all the lanterns of the boat.

We couldn't forget about the chairs. We decided to dress up the gold Chivari Chairs with tiny floral arrangements and matching satin ribbon.

And our centerpieces that we absolutely love!!!! For the gold and claret tables we used the deep red roses, burgundy callas, burgundy cymbidiums and filled it with deep colored foliage.

For the claret table tops we wanted to pull out the gold color by using orange flowers with hints of red in them. We used mango callas, orange roses, and orange cymbidiums and used the same deep dark foliage to fill.

Below is the head table. I don't know why it's set for three? Maybe for the couple's child?

Thanks everyone for their support as we prepared to be one of the featured vendors at our very first Wedding Fair!!! We did really well!!!

Napa Valley

We went to explore the Napa Valley for my 30th birthday. I thought the day would be a complete waste since it was off and on rain. But by mid morning it began to dry up and sun decided to come out and shine!!! The colors of fall was abundant everywhere you look seemed like a painting of greens, browns, reds, oranges, purples, yellows… it was absolutely gorgeous! Despite the rain at the beginning of our day, the weather was beautiful. The air was warm and smelled fresh from the recent rains and it was just a wonderful day!

We visited 4 wineries but I only included 2 of the most scenic ones we visited

Wonderful Service ...

Melissa and Lana took care of all the decorations at my wedding. We got married at Walnut Creek Community Center at Heather Farms, and the building is nice, but they transformed this venue to a magical place. The flowers were gorgeous, the balloons were beautiful, the Roman columns behind the head table were an awesome touch, the chocolate fountain was a hit and the arch they decorated was gorgeous.

Not only that, but these ladies are super affordable and easy to work with. My breath was literally taken away. Not to mention they decorated my blah cake with fresh flowers and transformed it to a master piece. Wow... is all I can say!
